Patrick Bran wants readers to be able to explore the books, read serialized fiction, and use the newsletter signup with a range of devices and assistive technologies. Accessibility improvements are part of the ongoing work on this website.
Our approach
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) provide a reference for reviewing the site. Work includes clear page structure and link labels, descriptive text for informative images, keyboard access, readable text, and layouts that adapt to different screen sizes. The site has not completed a comprehensive accessibility evaluation, and full WCAG conformance has not been established.
Known issues and work in progress
Some serialized-fiction pages currently show horizontal scrolling or crowded header content at certain screen sizes. Mobile layouts, menu behavior, keyboard focus, image descriptions, and color contrast are still being reviewed. These areas may affect the reading or navigation experience.
Newsletter and external services
Newsletter signup continues on Mailchimp’s pages and may require Google’s human-verification challenge. Amazon purchases also take place on an external website. These services control their own interfaces. If one of these steps prevents you from using a feature, please contact us so we can discuss another way to help.
Get help or report a barrier
Email brienpatterson@gmail.com if you have difficulty using the site or need help accessing a story or other information. Please include the page address, what you were trying to do, the problem you encountered, and, if you are comfortable sharing it, the browser, device, or assistive technology you were using. A particular response time is not guaranteed, but feedback will be used to prioritize improvements and respond to requests.
